This song goes out to all seniors and juniors alike..

David Gates - Standing in the Eyes of the World

Looking back all the years
all the sacrifice
If you wanna be the best
you've got to pay the price
Learnt it from the very start
just how hard you must try
Cause if you don't spread your wings
then you can't fly

Look at where you are today
Did you ever think that you
would came all this way

(chorus)
Now you're standing in
the eyes of the world
only moments away
from what can be
there's a passion in the
hearts of a few
ever waiting inside to be set free

When the time comes
and your spirit takes flight
and you reach into your soul and
live it with all of your might

And there's no surprise
that you're standing in the eyes of the world

Many have hopes and dreams
that will not come true
And all of them left behind
now they will live in you
Everyone wants to stay
just the day in the sun
But sometimes there is only room for one

Never ever been so near
Now the chance thats finally here

(chorus)
Now you're standing in
the eyes of the world
only moments away
from what can be
There's a passion in the
hearts of a few
Ever waiting inside to be set free

When the time comes
and your spirit takes flight
and you reach into your soul and
live it with all of your might

And everyone tries
when you're standing in the eyes of the world

Standing in the eyes of the world

Some common courtesies during water training

No doubt we have had some enjoyable sessions rowing together. Kudos to the guys team for your enthusiasm in attending our many trainings. However, in the spirit of attaining better efficiency, it may perhaps be useful to keep in mind a few of the following small acts of kindness which will help speed up the post-and pre-water sessions which we will have in the future.

Considerate Acts :

Pre-training :
1) Bring your own water bottle to training.
2) Try to arrive 5-15 minutes early for training.
3) Give your group leader a call if you think that you might be late.
4) Be prepared to help members of the LAW(logistics and welfare) group out in getting the paddles and lifejackets.
5) Be mindful. Know what is happening.
6) Take initiative to help teammembers, be it carrying paddles, props or boats.

Post-training :
1) Don't leave your belongings behind.
2) Buckle your lifejackets before stacking it up/handing it over to the LAW group representative.
3) Take initiative to help teammembers, be it carrying paddles, props or boats.
4) During night trainings, hurry to the bus pick up point after training. We will not wait for you to shower.

Having said all that, I guess the most important is to always think, be mindful and to show more love for your brothers on the team. Let us look forward to more efficient traning sessions in the future.
